Maintenance Technician

Job Description

The Maintenance Technician position is overseen by the Maintenance Supervisor and maintains production and quality by ensuring proper operation of machinery, and mechanical and facilities equipment throughout the entire plant and property. This will be a full-time position, Monday-Friday, 7:00am-4:00pm, with occasional overtime.

Job Responsibilities:

  •  Ensures proper operation of production and facilities equipment, and plant vehicles by troubleshooting, repairing, and completing preventive maintenance actions using diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, CMMS, and engineering specifications.

  • Locates sources of issues by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for problems, using measuring and testing instruments, and communicating with production.

  • Removes and replaces defective parts using hoists, cranes, forklifts, hand and power tools.

  • Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.

  • Use rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments to determine dimensional changes in machine parts and make adjustments as necessary. 

  • Controls downtime by performing routine preventive maintenance techniques documenting issues and monitoring compliance.

  • Maintains equipment, parts, supplies, and inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipate needed equipment, parts, and supplies. Also records parts used through CMMS.

  • Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.

  • Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.

  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment.

  • Become familiar with plant operations including the flow of raw materials into the finished product.

  • Clean and finish maintenance tools and equipment using approved methods.

  • Ability to reference MSDS to ensure safe handling and proper PPE are used.

  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

  • Assist as needed performing maintenance, in production, shipping, as well as a willingness to act as a relief worker for various departments.

Requirements:

  •  Minimum 1-3 years maintenance experience including mechanics, pneumatics and electrical

  • Welding, cutting, and fabrication techniquesPrecision measuring and electric testing instruments

  • Power tools such as impact wrench, hoists, saws, and drills

  • Ability to check blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary

  • Strong organizational, attention to detail, and follow up skills 

  • Professional & Positive presentation, attitude and team oriented mindset a must

  • Willingness to learn and work safely

  • Experience in manufacturing plant environments 

  • Experience with concrete machinery is a plus

  • Reliable transportation & attendance

  • Must be flexible and available for occasional extra hours & overtime after hours and on weekends

Production Technician 

Job Description

Coast Precast is seeking full-time Production Technician candidates for immediate hire. We are a family-owned manufacturer of Precast Stair Treads in Texas, where we strive for quality and longevity. At Coast Precast, we are looking for hardworking, motivated, reliable people to come onboard and help Coast grow to achieve our goals.

There is room for advancement from this position, depending on displayed work ethic and desire to learn. 40 hrs per week, paid weekly, $16/hr starting pay. Current schedule is 7:00 a.m - 4:00 p.m with a 1hr lunch, Monday through Friday, with the occasional opportunity for overtime.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a positive working relationship with co-workers, customers, clients, and management

  • Personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to; gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, which will be provided by the company)

  • Participate in a one-piece-flow assembly line operation to produce products requiring attention to detail and focus

  • Learn about plant operations including the flow of raw materials into the finished product

  • Assemble bolts, clips, screws, cement, and other fasten-able parts together by hand or with hand tools

  • Ability to lift 75lbs, bend, twist, stoop, sit, kneel, crawl, push and pull. Able to reach in all directions

  • Ability to do repetitive tasks, ie. shovel concrete materials repeatedly throughout the day

  • Clean and finish assembly equipment using approved cleaners and tools according to SOP book and ability to reference MSDS to ensure safe handling and proper PPE is used

  • Assist as needed performing maintenance, in production, shipping, as well as a willingness to act as a relief worker for various departments

  • Handle an open air, covered shop environment and work in all weather conditions: heat, cold, wet, or dry. May have exposure to dust, sand, gravel, cement, fly ash, concrete, admixtures, oils, etc.

  • Familiarity with hand tools commonly found in the manufacturing environment (ie. Power drills, saws, pneumatic equipment, hydraulic equipment, etc.)

Requirements:

  • A self-starter attitude with high personal expectation of themselves and those around them

  • Initiative, good judgement, and ability to respond quickly to normal and unforeseen situations

  • Operate hand and foot-based controls on all types of equipment, identify and maneuver around obstacles and see and hear warnings

  • Ability to work efficiently and repetitively with hands and have the strength, stamina, and coordination to perform daily duties

  • Previous construction or manufacturing experience. Forklift experience is a plus
